Time-and-attendance application maker Workforce Software has decided it’s time to go global in a bigger way.
The Livonia, Michigan-based company said earlier this month that it had acquired RosterLive, an Australia-based maker of scheduling software. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Workforce Software also announced other international expansion moves, such as the establishment of new offices in the United Kingdom and the formation of a strategic alliance in China. The company also said it has new data centers in the Netherlands and Sydney, Australia.
“Since our inception in 1999, we’ve been squarely focused on developing and delivering workforce management solutions that transcend the simplistic ‘punch-in, punch-out’ approach that is all too common in our industry,” Kevin Choksi, co-founder and CEO of Workforce Software, said in a statement. ” … Today I’m proud to announce that we’re taking our already impressive global presence to the next level in a large and meaningful way.”
Choksi’s company is part of a broader landscape of vendors offering “workforce management” software. This category of human resources technology includes tools for time-and-attendance management, employee scheduling and absence management. Other workforce management software providers include Kronos, Oracle and SAP.
Workforce Software has been growing quickly. Earlier this month, the company reported first-quarter revenue growth of 42 percent compared to its 2012 first quarter results, as well as a 139 percent increase in bookings over the same period last year.
