Some members of Congress are angry that the L-1 visa--which is supposed to let employers bring on employees temporarily who have special knowledge--is being abused and is causing U.S. jobs to be shipped overseas, according to CNET. Unlike the H-1B, there’s no cap on the number of L-1 visas that can be given out. Among the senators and congressman interested in tightening the L-1 rules: Sen. Christopher Dodd (D-CT); Rep. Nancy Johnson (R-CT); Rep. Henry Hyde (R-IL); and Rep. Tom Lantos (D-CA).
