Employers facing talent shortages might want to take a page from Michigan and other states where companies are recruiting workers, like Blair Dudley, who are displaced from old-line industries. “While the situation in Michigan is somewhat unique, it shows how thinking creatively can help employers facing workforce shortages,” one expert says. “By forming coalitions, they can raise the visibility of their needs and target other industries.” Also: the hot market for firefighters and military personnel in health care careers.
