Because of policy changes and sequestration, government defense and intelligence budgets have shrunk, increasing competition among government contractors. With less money to be had, government contractors have had to tighten up their budgets, too, meaning companies like CACI International Inc. face doing more with less.

Leadership at the Arlington, Virginia-based information solutions and services provider implored its recruiting and assimilation team to work smarter to make sure every dollar of its smaller recruiting budget was spent with “absolute purpose and conviction.”CACI International

CACI recruiters responded by implementing new technology to improve recruiting intelligence and analytics, and introducing new marketing solutions to engage and attract targeted candidates. The department also created a mobile careers app to make the job search and application process easier.

“By the end of our fiscal year, we had realized a cost savings of nearly $108,000 in job board expenses alone, which was a 32 percent savings to our budget,” wrote Kristi Cell, CACI’s vice president of recruiting and assimilation, in the company’s application.

Those mobile solutions have allowed CACI’s recruiting team to improve its performance and decrease operational costs. And CACI’s mobile careers site and app quickly paid for themselves.

For its effective mobile recruiting technology, CACI International is the winner of the silver Optimas Award for  Recruiting.
