Since joining Cole Engineering Services Inc. in October 2009, Doreen Allison has managed human resources and oversaw a dizzying maze of complex governmental compliance regulations during a time of rapid growth for the defense-contracting firm. Oh, and she managed all HR aspects of the acquisition of another company this year.
Cole added 100 employees since Allison’s arrival. The company also saw revenue spike from $8.3 million to $25 million during that time. Allison, 33, implemented the company’s affirmative action plan and coordinated a partnership with the White House for its Corporate Voices for Working Families initiative. Her hands-on approach during the recent acquisition resulted in the retention of all new employees while engaging the current staff during the transition.
