Archer Daniels Midland Co. has plans to cut about 1,000 workers from its worldwide workforce, including hundreds in Illinois.

The Decatur, Illinois-based company said in a news release that the cuts represent 3 percent of the company's total workforce.

ADM did not break out the number of cuts in Illinois, but a source with knowledge of the plans says hundreds will be cut in the state.
