People moving into key executive positions

Jim Farrell has joined the public sector practice at EquaTerra. Most recently, Farrell served as chief human resources officer for the state of Michigan. He previously worked as director of the Human Resources Service Bureau at the Michigan Department of Civil Service and as human resources director at the Michigan Department of Transportation.

Ted Rudich has been named executive vice president of global integrated services in the human resources services unit at Fidelity Investments. He previously worked as executive managing director and leader of the human resources outsourcing unit at Affiliated Computer Services. Prior to ACS, Rudich held executive positions at Buck Consultants, Mellon Human Resources & Investor Solutions, Morgan Stanley Trust and Automatic Data Processing

Wayne Byers has been named senior vice president of global human resources at Carnival Corp. He previously worked as vice president of human resources and as vice president of quality at Holland America Line, a division of Carnival. Prior to Holland America, Byers served as president of the Greenwich Group.

Martin Vine has been named COO of IIC Partners, Executive Search Worldwide. A former brigadier general in the British Army, Vine served as defense advisor to the British High Commission in Pakistan, commander of the Multinational Task Force in Bosnia, deputy of security to the Coalition Provisional Authority in Iraq and assistant military attaché to the British Embassy in Washington.

Theodore Shaw has joined Fulbright & Jaworski as of counsel in the firm’s New York office. Shaw recently served as the director-counsel and president of the NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund, where he worked for more than two decades. Shaw currently serves as professor of professional practice at Columbia Law School.

Candy Knowles has been named senior vice president and chief human resources officer at Parkland Health & Hospital System in Dallas. She previously worked at Parkview Health System, where she was responsible for human resources, security and employee safety.

Terry Kassel and Ruthanne Feinberg have been named co-heads of the strategic human resources practice at Glocap Search. Kassel previously served as global head of human resources at Merrill Lynch. Since her departure from Merrill Lynch, Kassel has worked with private equity and hedge funds on executive talent assessment and talent review processes. Feinberg is a member of the firm’s management committee, responsible for internal recruitment.

RJ Heckman has been named president and CEO of Personnel Decisions International. He recently served as vice president and general manager of leadership assessment products at PDI. He previously served as general manager of PDI’s Boston office and as the global practice area leader for leadership product development and strategic technology alliances in the company’s New York office. Prior to joining PDI, he worked for Graco and AlliedSignal in Japan.

Tim Meacham has been named senior vice president in the operations group at Lockton Cos. He recently served as managing director of the Chesapeake region at Wachovia Insurance. Prior to joining Wachovia, Meacham held several senior management and production roles at Johnson & Higgins and Marsh, including employee benefits practice leader at both companies.

Nancy Tallent has been named vice president of human capital at Schenck Co. She recently served as chief human resources officer at Crum & Forster Insurance. Prior to joining Crum & Forster, Tallent was senior human resources officer for the Southeast region and worldwide operations at CNA Insurance.

Renato Cassinelli has been named employee benefits practice leader for Latin America at Willis Group Holdings. He previously served as vice president and operations director for multinational benefits and international healthcare within Willis’ global employee benefits practice. Prior to joining Willis, Cassinelli ran the AIG employee benefits profit center in Brazil.

Danniella Crawford has been named director of human resources at Benchmark Hospitality’s Cheyenne Mountain Resort. She recently served as director of human resources at the Garden of the Gods Club, a Sunrise Co. property. Prior to joining the Sunrise Co., she served as director of human resources at Carraway Methodist Medical Center and as a benefits and compensation manager at Farm Credit Bank.

Larry Kurzner has been named executive vice president of strategic markets at Softscape. He recently served as director of global business development at Accenture Human Resource Services. Prior to Accenture, Kurzner held senior-level positions at Aon Consulting, Mellon Human Resources & Investor Solutions, and Exult.

Paula Mayers Styles has been named director of learning and organizational development at GAB Robins North America. She recently worked as senior learning consultant at Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey. Prior to joining Horizon, she was co-founder and CEO at Spectrum eBusiness Solutions.

Mike Betzer has been named senior vice president of relationship technology management at Convergys. He recently worked as vice president of customer relationship management strategy at Oracle. He previously worked as vice president of product management at Oracle, founder of Ineto Services, vice president of information technologies and operations at MCI, and as vice president of sales at Pioneer Technologies.

Jonathan Parker has been named CEO of the Nelson Family of Cos. He recently served as vice president at Boston Private Financial Holdings. Prior to joining Boston Private, Parker was a founding partner at Edgar, Dunn & Co. and worked as a manager in the consulting practice at Deloitte & Touche.

Charles P. Nelson has been named president of Great-West Retirement Services. He previously served as the company’s senior vice president.

Mike Matsumoto has been named senior vice president and business leader for Japan in the health and benefits practice at Aon Consulting. He recently served as president and COO of Konica-Minolta Holdings USA.

Brian Metcalf has been named vice president at MOHR Access. He recently served as senior vice president of the corporate university at CCA Global Partners.

Richard Caldera has been named chief human resources officer at Heidrick & Struggles. He recently served as senior vice president of human resources, mergers and acquisitions for the health care sector at Royal Philips Electronics NV. Prior to joining Philips, Caldera was senior vice president of human resources at Skanska AB and vice president and senior human resources officer, global operations at CNA Financial.

Robert Martin has been named senior vice president of business development at Bekins Van Lines. He recently served as vice president and general manager at the Graebel Cos.

Marie Rice has been named corporate vice president for retirement research at LIMRA. She recently served as vice president for market insights at Fidelity Investments. Rice previously worked for LIMRA as associate project director.

Greg Morris has been named senior consultant at Novations Group. He recently served as a diversity consultant at Agilent Technologies. He previously held senior positions in HR, marketing and finance at HP and Apple.

Jim Bowles has been named vice president of the leadership and management practice at BTS. He recently served as vice president of workforce development at AT&T Mobility.

Keith Smith has been named director of employment and labor policy at the National Association of Manufacturers. He previously served as director of research and policy analyst for the association. Prior to joining NAM, Smith served as federal government affairs specialist for Tew Cardenas and worked for former Sen. George Allen, R-Virginia.

John O’Neill has been named a partner in the legislative and government affairs practice group at Venable. Most recently, O’Neill worked as policy director and counsel for former Sen. Trent Lott, R-Mississippi, serving as primary staff support on the Senate Republican Health Care Working Group. He previously worked as tax and pension counsel to the Senate Committee on Finance under committee Chairman Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, serving as principal staffer and lead negotiator for Sen. Grassley on the Pension Protection Act of 2006.

Thomas Grobicki has been named CEO of Avilar. Grobicki is a founding partner at Avilar and previously served as chief technology officer. He is also the principal architect and designer of Avilar’s human capital management and training software. Prior to Avilar, Grobicki was vice president of engineering at AdaSoft and a manager at Syscon Corp.

Richard Souders has been named president and CEO of Kaba Workforce Solutions. He recently served as president and CEO of Premier Data Services.

Roseanne Branciforte has been named managing director at Pharmagistics. She recently served as senior vice president of operations at Esprit Pharma. Prior to Esprit, Branciforte was co-founder and president of Metagen.

Philip Rowley has been named president at Resolution Economics. He recently worked as senior managing director of the labor and employment practice at LECG. He previously held management and practice leadership roles at Navigant and Peterson Consulting.

Bob Gonzales has been named senior vice president for human resources shared services at CH2M HILL. He recently worked as vice president of global human resource operations at Lenovo. He previously held several human resource positions at IBM and Fidelity.

Pat Cantwell has been named executive director of development and recruiting at Hawthorne Executive Search. He recently worked as vice president of strategy, planning and business development at Bell Atlantic’s Directory Group (now Idearc). He previously served as vice president of marketing and strategic planning at Bell Atlantic and as president of Bell Atlantic Electronic Publishing.

Michael Tansey has been named CEO of onTargetjobs. He recently served as CEO of Jobson Medical Information. Prior to joining Jobson, Tansey held various CEO and group CEO positions at ThomsonReuters.

Marie Apke has been named COO of Bensinger, DuPont & Associates. She recently served as the company’s senior vice president, overseeing employee assistance programs, gambling help lines, clinical oversight and supervision.

Jason Burlie has been named senior vice president of client services and administration at MullinTBG. He recently managed the firm’s technical administration and client services departments. Prior to joining MullinTBG, Burlier was an operations manager at Countrywide Home Loans.

John Miele has been named vice president of service operations for the outsourced benefits administration business unit at Workscape. He recently worked as a division vice president at Affiliated Computer Services, responsible for HR service delivery. Prior to ACS, Miele held leadership positions at Convergys, Hewitt Associates and PeopleSoft.

Mike Cuffe has been named vice president of claims training and development at Farmers Group. He recently served as assistant vice president of claims training and development. He previously ran worldwide training programs at J.D. Power and Associates and held senior educational positions at Schneider Electric and Square D Electric.

Shawn Rossi has been named a vice president in the sales force effectiveness practice at Sibson Consulting. He recently served as a managing director at Callidus Software.
