You say your HR department has enough to do already and cannot devote staff to the relocation cause? Food for thought:
- Providing assistance can take as little effort as organizing materials and directing the applicant to on-line resources. Designate a walk-up computer as your "Relocation Resource Center" with web site addresses stored along with self-help relocation tools for ease of review.
- Provide copies of regional destination magazines, typically distributed by publishers to companies at no charge upon request. Keep special insert "Relocation Guides" which most local newspapers print periodically.
- Contact local Economic Development Corporations or Councils which maintain labor, crime, school and community statistics (many now available on-line). Include this information in packets or make information available at your "Relocation Resource Center."
