Dear Melanie:

    JOBTRAK justcompleted its survey of college students to find out what they are looking forfrom employers. More than 1,000 college students and recent graduates respondedto the question in January of 2001, "Which benefit do you desiremost?" The results were recently sent to Workforce:

  • Flexible hours: 42%
  • Stock options: 9%
  • More vacation time: 15%
  • Ability to telecommute: 6%
  • Better health plan: 13%
  • Large signing bonus: 12%

As for last year's results:

  • Flexible hours: 35%
  • Stock options: 19%
  • More vacation time: 13%
  • Ability to telecommute: 13%
  • Better health plan: 12%
