The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) regulations protect consumers on interstate moves and define the rights and responsibilities of consumers and household goods carriers.

Upon moving, service providers should give the client a booklet that provides information about consumer rights and responsibilities as a shipper of household goods. The mover should also provide a pamphlet that describes its procedures for handling questions and complaints.
