terrorist attack, and high turnover are among the reasons cited by Conseco, Inc. for bringing jobs back to the United States
it had once exported to India
“We gave it a shot and it didn’t work,” Dave White, Conseco’s senior vice president of policy services, told the Indianpolis Star.
Indiana-based insurer Conseco earned a reputation as a pioneer in outsourcing when it moved 800 jobs to India three years ago. Former CEO Gary Wendt told the newspaper he expected savings of up to $60 million a year. Now Wendt is gone, along with hopes of huge savings. Most of the jobs have returned to Indiana, the newspaper said.
