We have an employee who has been employed with us for 2 years. She is going from part-time to full-time. Our policy is that new hires must work for 6 months before they receive vacation and sick time. Once they reach 6 months, the amount of leave is pro-rated for the rest of that year, and then the following year they receive the full allotment. Should I treat this employee as though they just reached their 6 months and pro-rate the amount of leave, or give her the entire annual allotment?
