We had an employee call out in th morning for his 2nd shift position (4pm -12m siting), "there was criminal activity on his street and they closed his road and ask people to stay indoors". There was criminal activity and they caught the criminal at around noon according to the news reports. The employee lives 10 minutes from work (as was the news making criminal event). Would you expect him to come into work? reasonably close to his scheduled shift?
Note: this employee already had serious attendance problems.
