How do you propose the OP does this? Will a "remote" HR office answer these types of questions over the phone to another, possibly competing company's HR department? I'd think many would keep this sort of information, including things like PTO accrual, close to the vest. Or are you proposing the OP pose as a potential employee asking benefits questions?
A book with case studies or a report from one of the larger consultancies may, or may not, be the better way to go.
