HiredMyWay.com: Listings on this job board don't cost companies a thing. But once they fill a listed job, they pay a recruiting fee of $500 to $12,000 based on how critical they deem the position. That recruiting fee is used to fund a hiring bonus to the new employee, a transaction fee to HiredMyWay, and, if relevant, up to a $4,000 referral fee to the person who brought the company and new hire together. Job seekers buy $2 "tokens" to guarantee their résumé is seen by a hiring manager, or get their money back in 15 days if not; a free, no-guarantee service is also available.
HireVue: Using this on-demand digital interview platform, companies can email interview questions to job candidates, who can record their answers using a standard webcam and then send them back. The company says customers include Wal-Mart Stores Inc., Dunkin' Donuts, Red Bull, Starbucks Coffee Co. and Geico. A mobile version of the software released in late February lets recruiters or hiring managers send requests and review video interviews from an iPhone or iPad.
Jobyra: Prospective candidates can use this service to create video promos of up to 2 minutes, import their LinkedIn profile to use as a résumé, and apply for positions. Companies can use it to screen candidates and post jobs; listings include jobs at Macy's Inc., Wal-Mart, Symantec Corp. and Expedia Inc., among others.
Kareer.me: Job hunters can use this service to create a custom résumé for each position they apply for—including video clips—and track résumés they've sent. The site, which caters to entry-level job seekers, recently added a job search page that pulls results from major job boards such as Indeed.com
Purzue.com: For $4.95 a month, job hunters can create multimedia résumés with audio, video and other multimedia elements that they can send, track and customize. A mass email feature lets job hunters submit multiple résumés at once.
TruApp: The job search service helps college students create multimedia résumés. The alpha-stage startup is available only to University of Michigan students.
