Perhaps the Las Vegas location has inspired more HR
professionals than usual to show up for the 2007 Society for Human Resource
Management Annual Conference.
When the show kicked off Sunday afternoon, June 24, SHRM had
registered 14,836 participants. The organization would set a record if 15,000
people attend the conference. SHRM officials said they expected registration to
rise as people arrived Sunday, but would not have updated numbers until this
morning.
A total of 765 companies are exhibiting on the convention
floor. The exhibiters are bringing a combined 5,000 staff members with them. The
conference program itself involves 220 unique educational offerings. Those
include the concurrent sessions, keynote speakers, Master Series presentations
and pre-conference workshops.
The conference continues through Wednesday, June 27.
