Hello HR Colleagues,
Is anyone familiar with any surveys showing how mnay companies are giving July 3, 2000 as a paid holiday? It is a Monday next year, so it would result in a four day weekend, similar to Tahnksgiving. The Survey Group in Massachusetts polled its membership too early in 1999 and at that time only 33% of members committed to giving 7/3 off as paid. Any information to make the case would be helpful. If you are a member of Society for Human Resources Mgmt. (SHRM) they may be able to provide some data for you. I know my company is using the third as a paid holiday next year!
Good luck!

We have a floating holiday each year, and July 3rd has been designated a floating holiday next year.
