We may have some data and may be able to help you. I work for the Foundation for Enterprise Development which is a nonprofit foundation that tries to promote broad based employee owneship plans such as the one you seem to implementing. You can give me a call at 202-530-8924.
Most of the data I have seen goes to stock options as a percentage of pay and does not break it out as to a hiring bonus. The vesting periods seem to be regionalized, so for example in high tech areas the vesting periods are faily short because that is what it takes to attract employees. In areas where the "old economy" is dominant the vesting schedules are usually longer. Give a call. Marshal Hyman mhyman@fed.org |
