We do! Paid maternity leave lasts 6 weeks and new moms are paid 60% of their base wages. Of course, FMLA lasts 12 weeks, so they can take the extra 6 weeks but it is without pay. The exception to the pay is if the new mom has physician documented health problems, then our short-term disability would kick-in.
Hope this helps.

First, remember that for any portion of the maternity during which the employee is deemed to be "disabled" by their physician the employee is entitled to the same benefits as any other short term sick or disabled employee.

Second, remember that some states impose their own floor of maternity benefits that may exceed your standard company benefits.

For non disabled Maternity Leave, there is no pat answer. Most small companies provide very little or no benefits, large companies will provide up to 6 weeks pay for the non disabled period.

We offer a company paid STD plan where employees earn 1 week of pay for every 6 months of service capping at 12 weeks. For those who go out on maternity leave, we let them use any time they have accrued according to their years of service. Pay is at 100%. Most return.
