Does anyone offer the employees flexible holidays? We offer 7 holidays per year, but would like to develop a policy where employees can decide which holidays are most important to them. Any advice will be appreciated. If you have this kind of system, I'd love a copy of your policy for reference!

One idea we had relating to your plan is to include a template of particular holidays and give the employees the option to switch any of them for any other holiday of their liking. That way you have the holidays in place, but in case someone would like a special religious holiday, for example, they can switch. In addition, maybe they'd rather take their birthday than Memorial Day (our doors are always open for employees to work on holidays or weekends). |

One method that I've utilized is to have a preset # of holidays, such as 6 (New Years, Memorial, July 4, Labor, Thanksgiving & Xmas). Then have employees accrue additional personal holidays; one per completed quarter of service (if they are there on the 1st, they get the holiday, but this can be structured in different ways to best fit your company) |
