I would like to do a statement of benefits at year end (I am preparing early). What are some of the areas to include into overall compensation? Wages, medical/dental STD/LTD, gainshare, profit sharing

We just redesigned our benefits statement this year if you would like to e-mail me I could send you the draft. It included tuition aid, vacation, personal and floating holidays, 401(k) contributions, disability benefits, life and AD&D insurance, and social security.

I have prepared what we refer to as a "Hidden Paycheck" probably 3 to 4 years in a row, though we've given this up the last two years. I would be happy to fax you a copy of the completed statement, which I printed on certificate-styled paper, if you send me your fax number. My e-mail address is donielle.kramer@countybank.com. I accumulated information on medical insurance, EAP, retirement, workers' comp, bank product discounts and paid time off. It was interesting to a few, but I got very little feedback from the majority. The exercise is a worthwhile one for strategic and budgetary planning, but don't expect the average employee to appreciate it. Rather than doing one every year, maybe every 2nd or 3rd year, just to track and communicate trends. I'm sure a consultant would have some interesting thoughts on this.
