I had one situation where the employee went to a counselor. Before the session started the counselor asked how they were going to pay for the visit. The employee verified EAP and their insurance plan. While the counselor was on the EAP plan, they were not on the insurance plan. The counselor informed the employee that they really could not help them if they were limited to 5 visits together. NOT GOOD! This is the only bad situation I have come across. I think it is an excellent benefit to offer employees.

We currently use UNUM's Life Balance program. I am very pleased with the wide range of services they offer. They not only offer counseling for employees' personal issues, but also for work/employee related issues that our management staff wants assistance with.
