Responding to resumes
Exchange ideas about health plans, retirement, work/life benefits, and employee assistance.
We are looking to cut the number of calls that we receive in regards to solicited and unsolicited resumes. Does anyone have anything genric that could be used for both of these situations.
thanks

Cindy,
I think the easiest way to cut down on the phone calls would be to not publish your phone number on any positions you post. That should at least help with half the problem. With the unsolicited resumes, I would have the person answering the phone simply say, "I will pass your message along to the proper person and if we have a position that suits your qualifications you will be contacted at that time." This is assuming of course the person answering the phone is the gatekeeper and the person on the other end is up front in saying why he/she is calling.
