We are starting to our vacation policy to run 1/1 - 12/31. I need advice on how to convert existing employees time and also how calculate new employees vacation time.

Our company is in the same transition. We had previously been on an anniversary year basis and it just became unmanagable. In order to complete the transition to calendar year - we had to calculate the amount of time the ee's had for 2000 that had to be used by 12/31. The calculation goes something like this.... total amount of time accrued thru anniversary ending date in 2001 - divided by twelve months - times number of months from anniversary beginning date thru 12/31 - less any days already taken.

Example:
hire date 07/01/2000
1 week (40 hours) due / 12 months = 3.33 hours per month
6 months to 12/31 x 3.33 = 19.99 hours rounded to 20 hours
