We currently have Casual Day every Friday. We are contemplating going to Casual every day. However, we are concerned that this will create issues with managers having to decide what is appropriate casual dress. Does anyone out there have casual dress all the time and what problems do you encounter? |

Our office is casual everyday but we are just now putting what is appropriate and what is not in writing. The problems we have encountered are tank tops, sweat pants, and "short-shorts". Our new written policy spells out that none of the above are appropriate along with flip-flops and t-shirts or hats with obsence slogans or images. Our policy also states that management has the authority to send someone home to change their clothes, on their own time, or request certain clothing is not worn into the office again.

We have a "business casual" dress code. It includes no sweat pants, jeans, tank or halter tops, or t-shirts without a collar. It also stipulates that if you are going to be meeting with external visitors (i.e. potential customers or candidates) that you would dress appropriately to represent the company. So far, so good. |
