We are trying to establish rules for # of eligible absences. In other words what is excessive??? 3 pe quarter? Any suggstions?

We are trying to establish rules for # of eligible absences. In other words what is excessive??? 3 pe quarter? Any suggstions?

We use 5 absences and 3 occurences during a rolling calendar year. If an employee has more than 3 occurences and 5 absences they are them put on attendance control.

You need to do some research and look at the industry standard for your type of organization. It's difficult to draw a line, say of 3 per quarter.

What if in the first quarter the employee broke a leg. And later in the same quarter had to go for surgery again. But then, just to make things worse, developed streppe throat.

Flexibility always has to be built into any policies you wish to establish.
