If you are an exempt employee under the Fair Labor Standards Act - and your managing director title suggests that you are - then asking you to work an extra day without extra compensation is perfectly legal. An exempt employee is not paid for her/his time per se; rather, the exempt employee is paid to do a job regardless of the time required to do so.

If working a six day week becomes the rule rather than the exception, you might want to consider negotiating some extra compensation.
