Am curious as to what methods of time-off tracking are implemented at your company?

I keep a spreadsheet that gets reset at the beginning of the year. As new employees are hired, they get added (we prorate/give timeoff at beginning of the year). Then when the employee takes time off, they email me and their supervisor. For non-exempts, I check their timeoff against the payroll timeclock to make sure they took it.

There is a way to track it in our payroll system, but I have never used it...mostly because there are times when there is a lag between me finding out about it and the actual dates it is taken.
