- The Internal Revenue Service is proposing taxation changes to Section 125 Cafeteria Plans which seem to change the definition of a cafeteria plan (e.g. excluding Long Term Care) as well as how taxes on a cafeteria plan (e.g. Group Term Life) are calculated.The proposed effective date is Jan 2009 pending guidelines and regulations.Does any one has idea of this or more informaiton.

I suggest using google with the following search "Section 125 2009 final regulations" or talking to your Section 125 plan administrator/consultant. The new regs took effect 1/1/09 and you 125 plan document(s) might need to be updated/revised/amended.
