I am looking for insurance brokers, ideally located in the DC/VA/MD area. Currently we are using a 3rd party broker, but have had some issues. Any recommendations out there?

Further, has anyone been successful in working directly with an insurance carrier like BCBS or United?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

At least in Texas, UHC and BCBS require us to go through a broker and won't work directly with us. Not sure if it is regional or a size issue though.

Unfortunately, many companies are in the same position that you are. Would be happy to help guide you in the right direction. Email me your contact information and I will be happy to share my insight and experiences.
