Tax Implications of Domestic Partner Benefits Preventing Participation?

We are thinking of adding Domestic Partner benefits at the request of sev'l employees. But are finding that the tax on the partner portion is making the coverage undesirable to potential participants.

Tax Implications of Domestic Partner Benefits Preventing Participation?

We offer domestic partner benefits, and we do not have any program in place to increase income since it's an after-tax benefit.

mtaylor, I think you have a problem. The value of the benefit that is being provided to the DP should be taxable to the employee. The fact that post-tax premiums are paying for the benefit is not relevent.
