One of my benefits specialists put the wrong leave entitlement (exhaust) date on an FMLA designation notice, informing the employee she had 11 weeks of FMLA when, in fact, she had only 1 week remaining. Are we legally obligated to honor those extra 10 weeks of leave?

I agree the answer is no, but I would follow up the correction with documentation to the affected employee on how the 12 weeks were used so that there are no questions in the future.
