I need to put together an Affirmative Action Plan for my company. We have technicians working internationally. I have no idea where to get started to get the info I need. I have already received some info from the Employers Group. That's not helping very much. Any help would be appreciated. Please e-mail me. Thank in advance.

A big help would be an AAP software program. The one I've used is Complete AAP. It prepares all the required reports, fits companies that have multiple sites and provides the written text in a Word Template that goes along with the report. They help you with classifcations, both from a job and nationality standpoint. There is also a "dummy" corporation that you can review for assistance in putting the report together.

You will need to establish how your employees fit into the job groups, ie, managers, professionals, technicians, admin, etc. Then classify according to nationality: white, black, asian, hispanic, pacific islander. There was no classification for middle eastern when I was preparing the reports so they are classified under white. You can get started on this now. Their website is: www.yocum-mckee.com/complete A demo disk is also available, 800-765-1176.

Check with the EEOC too. This issue was addressed on Workforce in this forum a few days ago, about last Friday or Monday.
