Hi ! We are an India based Internet Product Company. We have recently established am office in the U.S ..I was wondering if someone could advice me on what I need to keep in mind in terms of polcies/

What do you keep in mind while establishing an office in the U.S?

We are an India based Internet Product Company. We have recently established am office in the U.S ..I was wondering if someone could advice me on what I need to keep in mind in terms of polcies/compensation/legal requirements/systems in the U.S...

I'm assuming you will be hiring an HR person - knowledgeable in a broad range of HR issues. How many people will be located in the office? Americans and/or others? Hiring here or transferring from other countries?

Because US laws, etc., differ usually greatly from other countries, it will benefit you tremendously to have someone here who is well versed in what should be done.

Again, assuming it will initially be a small office, a good generalist will probably be adequate initially and will either grow with the job as your office grows - or some time down the road, you may need to get a more experienced person.
