Do you use MS-Word? If your version does not have a template for a booklet or handbook, you can download a free template at Microsoft.com.
Or, click to http://www.hr-guide.com/data/023.htm where you can find online copies of handbooks. These are the types you would post on your intranet or other digital media. It saves on printing and many office workers seem to like clicking and reading versus a hard copy. If you outsource your printing, talk to the printers. Some will provide templates because it makes their job easier and the finished product looks professional. |

I received an ad from Personnel Policy Service, Inc. They advertise a 1 year service for $217 on sale - regular price $437. You can review the service for 30 days for free. I've never used it, so I don't know how good it is. Phone is 800-755-7011 (Mention FB1010) or www.ppspublishers.com/FB1010.htm. |

My suggestion. . . Don't spend money on a book with templates. I have found fantastic luck doing internet searches for the policies I was drafting from scratch or updating. There are sample policies at sites such as shrm.org, hr-dept.com, hr.com, hrvillage.com, and others.
Here are some university and government offices and other links that have some terrific samples and resources: http://www.ucsc.edu/ppmanual/resources.html http://www.princeton.edu/hr/policies/alphalis.htm http://www.elinfonet.com/HR_RZ.php http://www.opm.gov/html/topics.asp http://www.cmu.edu/policies/ http://professor.rice.edu/professor/Policies.asp http://www.companymanuals.com/bestpractices/links.htm And here's a list of lots of schools and their sites for their online policy manuals: http://www.hr-guide.com/data/023.htm |

The company employee handbook is one of the most important communication tools between the employer and the employee. Also, the handbook would contain enough detail to avoid confusion. In order to ensure that your staff understand and comply with your own company policies and current legislation you need to ensure that your staff handbook or staff training manual is up to date and covers all appropriate employee issues.
