Besides the fact that it is an administrive nightmare, and we are not able to keep a true audit trail within our time and attendance solution.

I would argue it based on the cost to the company....How much have you overpaid employees? How many corrections do you have to make each cycle? What does that cost in terms of time/productivity/etc? Have you had to fight wage claims due to the current system?

What is your paycycle? Are you on a semi-monthly for hourly employees? If so, the complications get worse.

Of course, "holdback" of pay is hard to explain to employees in the beginning or at the change. Some companies offer an advance during the switchover.

One suggestion I have seen is to keep the same workweek...but slowly move the paydate to one week out. That is, each paydate go one extra day. This would take a few months, but the impact is not as great. Of course, you would need to check with your state's wage laws to see if this is legal. It is is most IF you publish the pay schedule in advance and don't change the workweek willy-nilly to get out of overtime issues.

Thank you theese are some "really" good things to cover and may even help produce an internal ROI.
The paycycle is Semi-Monthly.
