The full quote from the dealer referenced above is at
http://www.goldrecord.com/testimonials.html
along with some others relating to employee recognition.

Gold records have a very powerful, iconic dimension. They call up a mythic and larger vision of excellence that encompasses those involved with them.

Hate to tell you, but I think most employees would rather have a cash bonus than a plaque -- even a gold record one -- to hang on the wall. Beyond cash, I can think of a lot of things that would motivate employees more than this suggestion actually....

And really, if you want to advertise, please go to the contact us link on the left hand side and talk to the WorkForce sales staff about buying some ad space. Because while they provide this site free for HR professionals, it is not meant to be free advertising for people wanting to sell products to them.

Based upon what you share, and your placing responsibility for the results solely on your customer with apparently no evidence from you, I'd take a pass and go forward with something more tangible.

I am not placing full responsibility on my client. As you can see at the bottom of my reply, I suggest I would be more than pleased to work you to build a program that gleans results, measures metrics and gives participants a way to implement collaborative practices on an ongoing basis.

Afterall, I am fully cognizant of what it takes to build and run a good, collaborative team... and look forward to helping anywhere I possibly can.

Earlier on in my reply I refer to doing two things... 1. Ask your people what inspires them. 2. Do that which they suggest inspires them... I didn't mean "go and do it by yourself".. I meant... Together we build a program that fits your needs.

I would be pleased to help in any way I can... and I hope to do it where people sincerely enjoy themselves too.

You are going to have to give something tangible BEFORE we work together, and that is not a commitment that we would or could. There is no way that I would go to my boss the CEO and say "lets have a rock star party to improve productivity" without having tangible bottom line results from others who have done the same. Even my employees, who have seen minimal pay increases over the years would wnder why we were squandering money on a project like this.

I don't know what industries you support but my national company won't waste precious resources on a rock star party. We are in the buisiness of making money. We do that now, I see no reason to disrupt that success with unproven frivolity.

We'll stick with skill building and more proven team building processes.

In an earlier post I offered hard evidence of many thousands of dollars of increased revenue because of recognition embodied in our gold records (see http://www.goldrecord.com/recognition_awards.html )

Does anyone else have anything positive to contribute relating to the benefits of recognition? My research has disclosed that non-monetary recognition is longer lasting and more effective for increased employee productivity and employee retention.

I would be more than pleased to provide data before we started planning an event together. I appreciate your willing to chat in the first place.

In the mean time go to http://www.LeagueOfRock.com/Team.asp and you can view a great little documentary on our events.

When you feel inclined, send me an email to Terry@LeagueOfRock.com and we can begin a more formal exchange of information.
