WARN Act-Salary Continuation

Laid off in November. Given 60 days of salary continuation and another 90 days of severance.

Just got another job and notified my former employer about it.

They're going to issue me a lump sum for the serverance but they are not going to pay me for the last "bit" of salary continuation. It was supposed to go until January 6th but they now say they are not going to issue it.

Is this proper? I can give more details if necessary....Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

Under the WARN ACT their obligation was only 60 days of pay. If they have a severance policy ask for a copy. It may state that payments stop when you find a position. After all that is the point of severance pay-bridging the gap to the next position.
