I am a dual US / UK citizen and for personal reasons need to return to my primary home in the US. My current UK employer is able to let me work out of my US home and permit travel back to the UK every 2 months. As the company does not have a US branch, I would like to know if I can be paid in the US with appropriate witholdings being made as I can claim some tax benefits - mortgage interest, etc.
Would appreciate any advice.

If you're going to be residing and working in the US as a US citizen, you must be paid in US dollars, with appropriate US withholdings.

Just to confirm, despite any tax treaties between US & UK, an individual pays tax depending on his/her residencyand citizenship?
In my case, I would be residing in the US but my work would actually be in the UK - essentially a home based UK employee.
Thanks for your advice.

Doesn't matter where the parent company is...what matters is where you are living and performing the work.

Actually as a US citizen it does not matter where you reside or where you work. ALL income earned globally each year is to be included in your gross income. However there are big income exemptions if your out of the US assignment can qualify. Talk to a tax expert.
