I thought I could trust this web site and forum to be a non-commercial place where I could connect with and learn from fellow professionals.

It has gotten completely out of control. Vendors are dreadging up posts that are several years old. And I just received an invitation to complete a survey that had nothing to do with increasing knowledge and everything to do with gathering marketing data. I have been a member for a long time, but I am seriously ready to bail.

I agree completely. I've been visiting this site for years, but checking in to find over 20 spam messages is certainly disinclining me to keep coming back.

You're going to lose this board if you don't start fixing this problem, Workforce!

I strongly suggest using the "contact us" on the left hand side of the screen down towards the bottom to express your concerns directly to the editorial staff. I have done so a few times in the past and they have always responded quickly AND in a friendly professional manner. (Anyone remember the floating box?)

The HR forum went away for various reasons. I know one of the members put together a replacement site that is excellent, in my opinion.

Joining is free and easy. HR info, lots of good folks, a variety of interaction.

marcNV - What am I missing? The index for the site you mention doesn't seem to have anything HR related. I see "humor", "sports", "off topic", etc...

There are lots of HR topics, but I will also say there are lots of off topic posts. The site is HR related, but the membership has been hanging together for some time and have gotten to know each other well enough to converse on a wide variety of topics.

Ken, I spoke with the site administrator - she said that visitors do not get to see the HR specific topic areas until they join.

Her reasoning is that folks can see specific companies and situations that might cause issues for the poster - so she holds back those areas until a person joins.
