I am trying to prepare our company for the eventual passage of the Employee Free Choice Act. We are a life insurance company employing around 160 employees, most of which are outside sales. We also own a group of funeral homes employing another 90 employees.

I have never heard of a unionized life insurance sales force or funeral home. Do I have any reason for concern? Why are some industries more prone to unionization? I know there are exclusions to NLRB coverage but I couldn't identify our industry in those excluded.

Hi Lynn,

I would be happy to discuss the topic further with you.

I currently educate companies about EFCA and how assess your vulnerability.
