What Twitter, facebook, linkein etc aren't enough lost time for your staff? Now you want to offer them yet another avenue for blogging etc. why?

We had one but after about a year it was removed.

While an internal blog/forum might seem to be easier to control, I suspect a company rep would need to be moderating it at all times to take down postings that should not be there. Or require postings to be approved.

This does take away some of the good of having it in the first place, but the employer would need to retain control. And how honest are employees going to be knowing the employer is looking over their shoulders? Well, I guess the dumb ones will try.

At our locations, we have a hard time because most of our employees are TOO social.

I think this sort of thing can also expose you to more proligic Union recruiting. If you are already union, then no big deal, but if you are not....
