Hello Everyone,
If someone is hired for part-time work (24 hrs/week) in a non-exempt position.
When is overtime paid: when hours are worked on top of 24 hrs/week or 40 hrs/week?
Thank you.

after 40. In some jurisdictions, California for example, after 8 hours in a day; in Colorado after 12 hours in a day.

Agree with HRPro regarding the legal OT in the states -- that is after 40 hours worked within the defined workweek.
But there is nothing to prevent an employee from negotiating higher pay after 24 hours a week or an employer from paying it. Probably not best business practice, but I could see situations where it has to be done to fill a specific position.
