I don't know if this is the right forum, but there don't see to be any other choices...

Am I understanding the regs correctly on
the life insurance in excess of $50K, the old method? The amount to be declared on the W-2 is age-rated, regardless of whether the 'er cost is age-rated or not?

Yes, you are correct. Regardless of how or if the employer charges for group term life, the W-2 amount is based on the group term life age tables (recently updated, by the way).
