Is it legal for a company to pay an employee by the hour(and thus pay overtime for hours over 40)if they are in an exempt position? If so, does the company have to do that for all exempt employees or

Paying Hourly for Exempt Positions

Is it legal for a company to pay an employee by the hour(and thus pay overtime for hours over 40)if they are in an exempt position? If so, does the company have to do that for all exempt employees or can they give the exempt employee the option of being paid by the hour or on salary?
