Does anyone know of any good policy writing seminars? I need to rewrite our employee handbook, and I believe that I some training to limit our liability.

American Management Association is a good source as well as the SHRM, Society for Human Resource management. There is also tons of software out there that will walk you through just about everything to do with it. Research the AMA and SHRM web sites.

Contact KnowledgePoint - they sell a software package for writing policies where you just cut and paste. I have had several people tell me it's terrific!

I haven't used it yet, although I have it, but have used their Descriptions Now for job descriptions and it is SUPER!

The AMA (American Management Association) has seminars perhaps not so much on the actual policy writing, but on the legal issues. Although, I'm on their mailing list and haven't yet seen anything specifically along those lines.
