I have a question and I wanted to know if someone would help. I live in NC and work for a callcenter. We are approaching our slow period and are recieving fewer calls. Our FT employees can work 32-40

I have a question and I wanted to know if someone would help. I live in NC and work for a callcenter. We are approaching our slow period and are recieving fewer calls. Our FT employees can work 32-40 to be considered FT. My question is if we are slow can we as a company send employees home if we are slow and have no work for them? Is it legal to send them home if there is no work under NC law, I can't seem to find anything on NC Dept of Labor site regarding such inquiry.Do they have to work a certain number of hours before we can send them home. Please help.

I'll assume that you are talking about non-exempt employees. I am not familiar with NC law. However, you can send non-exempt employees home when there is a lack of work.
