It appears that despite a lot of opposition, E Verify has gone into effect today.

I am interested in determining its applicablity. We are a subcontractor to many federal contractors. The questions are:

a. Is this only applicable to new contracts we may sign?
b. Do we have to go back and e verify our current staff now or after we get a new contract?
C. Do we have to E-verify new hires from this date forward only?

See the following website for all your questions:http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis. To answer your questions specifically it is only on new contracts and the contracts must contain the e-verify clause. You must e-verify employees working on the specific contract and new hires after the contract date. Up to you whether or not you want to e-verify your entire workforce.
