I work in the healthcare industry and our employees are required to maintain updated training certificates in order to be in compliance. My question to you is, Is an employee entitled to have copies of those trainings upon request should they lose the first copy? Our company provides the trainings to employees and with the current condition of the economy some employees are having to seek secondary employment, which is not against company policy as long as the secondary job does not interfer with the primary job. I mean, isn't everyone entitled to the information in their personnel files? After all, they have signed off on every piece of paper that's placed in them.

Hi:
Access to and copying of such files is governed by state law and hence varies from state to state.

Thanks for your reply. I'll check NC law.
