I work at a major hotel. I'm having problems w/ one of my dept. managers. She has a serious problems with people associating OUTSIDE of the work place. (ex. going to the movies, going to a bar, going to a theme park) and requesting the same days off. Basically she is up set b/c one of my supervisors is friends w/ all of us and likes to enjoy time with us outside of work. Is there basically she can do to stop us (IE: write us up etc...) or just give us hell at the work place. Should I go to my HR dept. What should I say? This has gotta be insane. She is basically jealous b/c none of us are including her) (we have high reasons why we aren't)

Thanks

Possibly the supervisor would have more of an issue than you would. A supervisor who pals around with his/her subordinates outside work can be problematic. It is very difficult to draw lines between work relationships and friendships; one could argue that the supervisor would not be effectively address any performance issues that arise among his best buds.

see i know what you are saying, but the thing is when we are at work... WE ARE AT WORK. If I mess up and need to be reprimanded I'll be reprimanded. The thing is this is going on with other Supervisors/Agents & also w/ MANAGERS. I don't see how it applies to some and not to others.
